Raspberry Rosé Spritzer

Happy Valentine’s Day!!

I would love to tell you that I know what I am doing this year for Valentine’s Day but I have no clue…..it’s Josh’s year to plan, so it’s a surprise! We are a very competitive couple so we take turns trying to out plan the other each year. I think I am winning….but he does pretty well….for being a man. (No offense men, we love ya!)

Josh and I have worked for a company called Party on the Rocks over the last few years. We bartend at different events throughout the year. They do happy hours at all the We Works here in Seattle. (Basically, they are shared office spaces.) Anyway, we started partnering up Dalisay Living with Party on the Rocks and we have been doing essential oil pop-ups. They are super fun and people love them.

Since it was the day before Valentine’s Day we decided to do a little romance theme. Josh worked with everyone on making their own rose petal bath salts with geranium essential oil and I served this awesome cocktail you see above. Vodka, Chambord, lime juice, and our own doTERRA lime and wild orange essential oil simple syrup; topped off with rosé champagne.

So popular!! I ended up making like 40 cocktails in the hour and a half we were there!

I will admit right now that you will probably see a lot of cocktails on this blog that have flavored simple syrups. Having essential oils just makes it so fun and easy to make syrups of different varieties, especially certain ones that would be harder to make if not for the oils. Lavender, lemongrass, bergamot, cinnamon…the list goes on. If you have these oils at home, play around with them yourself. It’s amazing how many combinations you can come up with!

We actually did a play on a Penicillin cocktail at one of our pop-up events and for that, we used ginger lemon syrup made with the essential oils. I’ll have to be careful though because soon we will have to have a separate fridge for all my syrup concoctions. I need to start giving them away as gifts or prizes because I certainly don’t need that much sugar lying around, eek!

I have noticed on my Instagram that certain times of the year have specific color tones. This is the first bright pink picture of the year, which is great because it is signifying that not only does it scream love and passion but that spring will be here soon! Yay, spring is such a fun time for food photography. I’m excited.

Anyway, once again…Happy Valentine’s Day!

Hey, and if you are single, nothing to be sad about! Enjoy this cocktail on the couch with a few of your gal pals while binging on Sex and City reruns or maybe hanging out with your big Great Dane that takes up three-fourths of your couch. (That’s my life.) Or hell, just enjoy hanging out with yourself and enjoy your own company, you are the best person you know, right? And….refreshing pink cocktails always make everything a little bit better.
